Committee Updates
Fundraising Committee
The fundraising committee’s primary purpose is to raise funds in order to meet the needs of our local SCORE chapter. People who wish to start a new business do not know about SCORE and our mission. As a chapter we wish to increase our circle of influence within the Cedar Rapids area. Our mission is to provide professional guidance and information, accessible to all, to maximize the success of existing and emerging small business. The fundraising committee under
Jerry Moore’s leadership is working to secure the required funding to accomplish our mission. We have exciting goals and major activities planned for the coming year.
Seminar Committee
The September seminar was very well attended. With additional marketing activities being planned for the
November sessions, we hope this success will continue. One of the main things we are working towards is increased attendance at future seminars.
Fellow counselors can help with this goal by promoting the seminars. Visit the
website for more information regarding the seminars

Training Committee
The training committee under the direction of Co-chairs Kathy McArtor and Jim Burns is in the process of defining and revamping the training process and procedures. Some initiatives the committee is looking into include.
- Training for all members to improve and update their skills.
- Training members on the correct way to fill out and handle the procedure of a 641.
- Creating a computer and hard copy of desk duty instructions.
- Creating a desk duty log.
- Developing a 10 minute member training role-play presentation to share at monthly meetings.
Speaker Committee
Duffy Schamberger and Jerry Moore spoke to the Metro North Rotary Club at the Elmcrest Country Club on September 20. This was the third speaking engagement for this dynamic duo, Jerry Moore is scheduled to speak at the Cedar Rapids West Rotary Club in November. He is a vibrant speaker always adding a bit of humor to the message.
To arrange for a speaker presentation contact
